چکیده

This paper presents a unified account of a number of dual category equivalences of relevance to the theory of canonical extensions of distributive lattices. Each of the categories involved is generated by an object having a 2-element underlying set; additional structure may be algebraic (lattice or complete lattice operations) or relational (order) and, in either case, topology may or may not be included. Among the dualities considered is that due to B. Banaschewski between the categories of Boolean topological bounded distributive lattices and the category of ordered sets. By combining these dualities we obtain new insights into canonical extensions of distributive lattices.

Study of canonical extensions of BL-algebras

Canonical extensions of lattice ordered algebras provide an algebraic formulation of what is otherwise treated via topological duality or relational methods. They were firstly introduced by Jónsson and Tarski for Boolean algebras with operators (see [8] and [9]) and generalized for distributive lattices with different operations in [5], [4] and [3]. If A = (A, {fi, i ∈ I}) is a distributive lat...

Duality and Canonical Extensions of Bounded Distributive Lattices with Operators, and Applications to the Semantics of Non-Classical Logics I

The main goal of this paper is to explain the link between the algebraic and the Kripke-style models for certain classes of propositional logics. We start by presenting a Priestley-type duality for distributive lattices endowed with a general class of well-behaved operators. We then show that nitely-generated varieties of distributive lattices with operators are closed under canonical embedding...

Algebraic Tools for Modal Logic

Monotone bounded distributive lattice expansions (DLMs) are boundeddistributive lattices augmented by nitary operations that are isotone orantitone in each coordinate. Such algebras encompass most algebras withbounded distributive lattice reducts that arise from logic, and general-ize bounded distributive lattices with operators. We de ne the canonicalextension for DLMs and ...

Canonical extensions, Esakia spaces, and universal models

In this paper we survey some recent developments in duality for lattices with additional operations paying special attention to Heyting algebras and the connections to Esakia’s work in this area. In the process we analyse the Heyting implication in the setting of canonical extensions both as a property of the lattice and as an additional operation. We describe Stone duality as derived from cano...

Distributive Envelopes and Topological Duality for Lattices via Canonical Extensions

We establish a topological duality for bounded lattices. The two main features of our duality are that it generalizes Stone duality for bounded distributive lattices, and that the morphisms on either side are not the standard ones. A positive consequence of the choice of morphisms is that those on the topological side are functional. Towards obtaining the topological duality, we develop a unive...
